BOOM PORTS

Below are videos and step-by-step directions on how to use and troubleshoot the Boom 2n1 and 4n1 plates for routing images to the monitors in the room.

SETUP / HOW-TO

Boom 2n1 Plate (BOOM AUX)

  • There are two different ports on this box:
    • HDMI Port
    • Display Port
  • We will use both from time to time but the HDMI is the most common port that we use here
  • On the Nurse Touchpanel it is called "Boom Aux"

You CANNOT have both plugged in at the same time! It will not work

BOOM 4n1 Plate (BOOM 4n1)

  • This plate has two ports that we use although only one is used semi-regularly
  • This is the DVI Port which is the long one on the bottom left of the plate
  • On the Nurse Touchpanel is is called "Boom 4n1"

Wall Aux

  • This is the same as the Boom Aux where we have two ports:
    • HDMI Port
    • Display Port
  • We can use this if we need a piece of equipment on the other side of the room or we need two of the same port at the same time
  • On the Nurse Touchpanel it is called "Wall Aux"

TOUCHPANEL ROUTING

Nurse Touchpanel Routing

  • This is the place where you can select any of the above ports where you have a piece of equipment plugged into and route to the monitors that you need for that case.
  • It is a drag-and-drop style wher eyou choose the port that you want and then touch the monitor that you want it to go to

TROUBLESHOOTING

Encoder Workaround for a Bad Port

  1. If one of the ports isn't working or is already in use then you can hijack on the the Encoders that is currently being used to display what you need.
  2. Find an Encoder that is currently connected and working for a different box like the Arthrex, Storz, Stryker or Smith and Nephew
  3. Unplug the HDMI or Display Port from the back of the Encoder and plug in the cable that you have in its place
  4. Look on the nurse touchpanel to see which encoder you are using and route to the screens you need like normal

Troubleshooting Checklist

  1. Think about how the equipment is connected. Try to follow the wires if you can to see how things are connected and if all cables are plugged into eachother
